Digital Culture Forum

The forum was created as a response to the growing role of technology in the cultural sector. It is a two-day event that aims to integrate the environment with other creative industries - in particular IT and Tech and the business community. We are primarily inviting people who work in cultural institutions and are involved in the digitisation, accessibility and dissemination of cultural collections to participate.

How do we operate?

Each edition of the FKC focuses on slightly different issues related to digital culture, such as technology as a game changer for culture or exploring the potential of the creative industries together.

The event is divided into two sections: the first day is the conference part - we meet for lectures, debates and presentations, which can be attended in person or online. The second day's programme focuses on a more practical approach and offers the opportunity to participate in workshops or study visits.

During the FKC, experts from various fields related to IT and new technologies suggest how to use digital tools creatively and innovatively when designing educational, cultural and marketing activities. Their advice has practical applications in the cultural sector and is transferable to different areas of cultural activity.

The forum offers an opportunity for the cultural world to meet with the world of new technologies, to network, to form partnerships and to expand knowledge. Those involved in archiving and digitising collections share their experiences with others in the sector.

Museums, galleries, libraries or archives are using new technologies to ensure the sustainability and accessibility of cultural and historical heritage. Their activities result in fantastic, creative and innovative ideas and products. During the Forum, we also talk about them and get inspired by them in a cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary setting.

Rules of participation

Participation in the FKC requires registration and places are limited.

Deadline

The FKC takes place in October. Enrolment is announced in late spring or summer. The forum takes place from 2023 onwards.
